Image of Auchenloaning Cottage supplied by David Crawford who wrote: “On doing some internet research, I noticed your 3 times great grandfather (Andrew Mitchell) was born at Auchenloaning Cottage, Old Monkland. By coincidence, my 2 times great grandfather (Thomas Crawford b1859, d1934) and Great Grandmother Jane Burley Crawford (b1883, d1926) also lived at one of the Auchenloaning Cottages. My father who is now 78 has a photo of one of the cottages (See attached file) - thought you might be interested. In the picture is my Great Grandmother (Helen Gilbert who married Daniel Crawford) in the black dress. I am not sure who the other two are.” | ||
